As of now, there is only one planet in our solar system which can sustain life and it’s where we reside as of the moment. And the mathematics of the cosmos tells scientists that one day, planet Earth should be vacated and we must find another planet to inhabit. In the earlier decades since the realization of this need, experts have set their eyes on Mars. But due to factors like absence of a magnetosphere and extremely thin atmosphere makes our neighbor planet incompatible for life forms.
Recently, there have been some serious developments made by a team of scientists form the University of California Santa Cruz and the Carnegie Institution of Washington. They discovered a new planet with the help of the W. M. Keck Observatory in Hawaii. The new findings that they made were from the 11 years of observation of a nearby red dwarf star, Gliese 581. Located in the constellation Libra, Gleise 581 is 20 light years away from Earth.
In the Gliese 581 star system lies what scientists label as the “Goldiclocks zone”, an area where planets can support liquid water on their surface. A new planet was found there, which they named “Gliese 581g” or the “Goldilocks Planet”. Orbiting its star in a span of 37 days, the newly-discovered planet has a mass three or four times that of Earth.
Another similarity this
newly-discovered planet which makes it similar to ours is that it is tidally
locked to the Gliese 581 dwart star. Because of this, Gliese 581g’s one side is
always facing the star, giving it continuous daylight. The other side facing
away from the star is always in darkness.
You??? Do you
think we can live there?.... hopefully yes. .. Can you imagine is this
a coincidence? or just God prepare us another planet which could be our
second home when our own planet dies?... those questions can't be answered
by just simple YES or NO.. a deeper studies will help.. remember it took
300-400 years before we can be there.. it's too long, we don't need to be there
or to create a spaceship to be there, what we need is to conserve and protect
what still remains. It's not too late for us to change and to correct what
we've done.. just have UNITY and.....
"REDUCE...REUSE...RECYCLE...
SAVE OUR MOTHER
NATURE, OUR MOTHER EARTH"
Goldilocks planet..
ReplyDeletetake years.. YEARS to reach there. :D
